Garden Obelisks

Obelisks are a very important garden accessory as they allow you to make a better use of that third dimension, height, so often ignored in amateurs’ gardens. If you look at professionally landscaped gardens you will notice that height is of massive importance in giving that full and well-structured look to a border. Not only that, but it is most useful when creating focal points at a distance from the observer to draw the eye, this in turn will enhance the apparent size of the garden and encourage the observer to set off and see better that which is further away. We offer a wide range of metal garden obelisks so you have a wide choice not only of size and design, but also of the type of support they will offer your plants. All are made from steel and are either powder or plastic coated for added corrosion protection. Most are simply pushed into the ground, but those with larger diameter legs are supplied with a ground hole maker – so simply push the feet gently to mark the soil where you need to make the holes. Obelisks, like many garden accessories, have greatly increased impact when they are repeated – again just look at professionally designed gardens. So if you have a long border, position 3 identical obelisks at intervals and ideally clothe each with the same flower, in this case white roses are hard to beat, and your eye will quickly spot the repetition and be drawn along the bed. Again, the curiosity will be whetted and the desire to explore will have been ignited. If no long border is available, then groupings of obelisks can also be very effective. It is important to remember that obelisks are effective even without their normal covering of vegetation; they will still lend distinction to your design in Winter.
